Germany will provide Ukraine with a new aid package mainly military amounting to 400 million euros but has yet to decide on the delivery of long-range missiles Tauruswhich Kiev persistently requests, the German Minister of Defense announced today.

The new aid package specifically includes various types of ammunition as they are “what Ukraine needs most,” the minister said Boris Pistorius in the newspaper Bild, on the eve of a meeting of its allies Ukrainian in Germany.

“The government has not yet decided whether to send Taurus cruise missiles,” the minister added.

“We are supplying additional ammunition, armored vehicles and demining systems” and the government plans to send electricity and heating generators ahead of winter, the minister added.

Regarding the Taurus missiles, Boris Pistorius stressed that “the task of the federal government as a whole is to weigh very carefully any weapons delivery. For this, many political, legal, military and technical aspects need to be clarified,” he said. This “is not easy,” the minister clarified.
