Sir Elton John has decided to sell his luxurious 1,200 square meter apartment in the famous Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta after 32 years.
The apartment is located on the 40th floor of the ‘Park Place’ residential tower and is for sale through Sotheby’s International Realty for just under $5 million.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the music legend originally purchased a maisonette on the building’s 36th floor for $925,000 in the early 1990s.
He then acquired neighboring residences to accommodate his vast art collection, forming six apartments into one residence spanning two levels. As the Buckhead publication reports, the move took nearly a month to complete with movers quietly packing the family’s vast amount of art and personal belongings.
The star told the WSJ that he decided to sell it because he no longer needed a base for his US tours.
Elton John and his family live in Windsor, England and also have a home in Nice, France. “I’ve lived here for 30 years and loved every minute. Well, Atlanta, I will take you with me in my heart, in my soul and I will never forget you” said Elton John during his last concert in the American city last September.
