Hundreds – or even thousands – of people, many with children and luggage, lined up to board buseswhile almost 3,000 have already arrived in Armenia, at the reception center set up by the government in Kornijor.

The leadership of 120,000 Armenianswho consider Karabakh as their homeland, told Reuters yesterday, Sunday, that they do not want to live as part of Azerbaijan and will leave for Armenia because they fear persecution and ethnic cleansing.

The Armenian leadership of the enclave, which belongs to Azerbaijan, announced today that all who wish to leave for Armenia, after last week’s Azeri military operation, will have the opportunity to do so.

The refugees are escorted safely to the Armenian border by Russia’s peacekeeping force in the region.

Meanwhile, in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, the police announced that they arrested at least 142 people today during anti-government proteststhe Russian news agency TASS reported, citing a statement from the Armenian Interior Ministry.
