Russia today added the president of the International Criminal Court (ICC)him Polish Piotr Hofmanski, on the wanted list without however clarifying the reason.

“Wanted as part of a criminal investigation,” the interior ministry said in its database of wanted persons in Russia, according to the state news agencies Tass and Ria Novosti;

Since May, Moscow has also put ICC prosecutor Karim Khan on the list of wanted persons.

In March 2023, the ICC issued an arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin for his role in the forced transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia.

Although Russia is not a member of the ICC, the Russian president is consequently prevented from traveling internationally because of this threat of arrest. So he was forced to give up going to the BRICS summit held in South Africa last August.

Vladimir Putin and his children’s commissioner, Maria Lvova-Belova, are charged by the ICC with war crimes over the “illegal transportation” of thousands of children from Ukraine. Moscow rejects the accusations.
