French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonnade announced today that she will travel to Armenia on Tuesday, and from there she will “reaffirm France’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia.”

“I will go to Armenia on Tuesday,” she said in a short post on X.

The French Foreign Minister “on the occasion of her visit will reiterate France’s commitment to stand by Armenia” and “reaffirm France’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia and the particular vigilance of Paris in respect of these “, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The head of French diplomacy, who visited Armenia on April 28, will be received by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“She will then meet with her Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, and meet with Armenian refugees who fled Nagorno-Karabakh, following the military offensive launched by Azerbaijan on September 19 and after nine months of illegal blockade (of the Lachin Corridor), under the complicit gaze of Russia,” French diplomacy added.

Colona will examine in particular “together with the Armenian authorities specific ways of strengthening our cooperation in all fields”.

The French Foreign Ministry announced last week an emergency financial aid from Paris to Yerevan, amounting to 12.5 million euros, in particular for “the care of refugees and victims of an explosion that occurred at a fuel depot in Nagorno-Karabakh on the evening of September 25.”
