Iran’s reaction was caused today by its award Nobel Peace Prize to imprisoned Iranian activist Nargis Mohammadi, for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and the promotion of human rights and freedom.

“Nargis Mohammadi she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her actions against Iran’s national security“, the semi-official Iranian news agency reported today Fars.

“Nargis Mohammadi received her award from the Westerners“, Fars reported, adding that it “many times made headlines due to its actions against national security.”

Officially, the Iranian authorities have not yet made any comment on Mohammadi’s award.

Mohammadi’s award comes a year after Mahsa Amini died in detention for violating the Islamic republic’s strict dress code for women.

She herself has been in custody since 2021 and is serving a sentence of 12 years in prison, 74 cords and 3 months of compulsory labor in garbage collection.

The charges against her include the spreading propaganda against the state.
