According to the first reports, two police officers were injured
Prisoners in Paraguay’s largest prison, Tacumboin a suburb of the capital Asuncion, they rebelled yesterday Tuesday, they took 11 members of the security staff hostage and set fire to the premises.

Mr. Riera said that according to the first information, two police officers were injured in the incidents in the prison.

Security experts emphasize that gangs have almost total control of the prison.
As photojournalists and cameramen of the Reuters news agency recorded, the entrance of Takumbou was in flames, however the authorities assured that the fire department later brought the fire under control. They also recorded a prisoner throwing stones at a guard and police officers with shields.
In the meantime, relatives of prisoners had gathered outside the prison waiting for news about their relatives.
Interior Minister Riera assured that after this crisis is over, the government will start working on a plan to reform the prison system.
