The Air Force C-130 transport aircraft maintained and upgraded at the Hellenic Defense Industry (HDI) facility will be delivered to the Air Force in early November.

The aircraft is in the EAB paint shop and will soon undergo the necessary flight tests, in order to be delivered in early November for operational use, strengthening the country’s transport aircraft fleet.

In the aircraft, in addition to the planned maintenance work, structural upgrade work was carried out in the area where the wings join the fuselage, giving it greater reliability and safety and extending its available time of use.

It is noted that the AAB made the last deliveries of two such aircraft in 2020 and 2021. It is now accelerating the delivery of C-130 aircraft to the Air Force, planning to deliver two more aircraft in 2024 and three in 2025.

The enhanced activity of C-130 maintenance at the ODA will allow the Greek Defense Industry to meet the requirements of the Air Force and also to return to the earlier undertaking of such programs from abroad and mainly from the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, strengthening its export potential.

With its new paint shop, built as part of the F-16 Viper upgrade contract, EAB now has the capability to paint large military and civilian aircraft.

Its goal is to expand its activities inside and outside Greece, offering new jobs and adding income.
