The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs today called on the Turkish citizens, who are in Lebanon, to stay away from the southern part of the country because of the fighting going on there between Israeli and Palestinian forces and advised them to remain north of the Litani River.

Due to the developments, which have an impact on the situation in southern Lebanon, the ministry said through the X platform that “we recommend our citizens in Lebanon to remain cautious and, if possible, stay away from the areas south of the Litani River.”

Besides, the Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan had today by phone with his United Arab Emirates counterpart to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza, a Turkish Foreign Ministry source said.

The source did not release any other details. Turkey has offered to mediate the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza and wants to send humanitarian aid to Palestinians affected by the conflict.

Fidan will travel to Egypt today for talks on regional issues.
