According to the exit polls, the centrist pro-European opposition prevailed in today’s parliamentary elections
The head of the pro-EU Polish opposition Donald Tusk, which according to exit polls won today’s parliamentary elections, said it meant “the end of PiS’s rule (Party of Law and Justice)”.
“Poland won, democracy won, we kicked them out of power (…) it’s the end of the bad periodit’s the end of PiS’s dominance,” Donald Tusk said after the exit poll results were announced.
In particular, according to with the exit polls, the centrist pro-European opposition secures a parliamentary majority in today’s parliamentary elections defeating the populist, nationalist Party of Law and Justice (PiS) and its far-right ally.
The three centrist opposition parties, Donald Tusk’s Citizens’ Coalition, the Christian Democrats of the Third Way and the Left have a combined 248 seats in the 460-member parliament, compared to 212 seats for PiS and the Confederation (far right).
