Russia on Friday circulated to the rest of the Security Council member states a draft resolution to be put to a vote and calls for an “immediate sustainable humanitarian cease-fire that will be fully respected” and for “unhindered” humanitarian access to the besieged Gaza Strip. siege, according to these sources.

Brazil, which holds the Council’s presidency this month, will also submit a text condemning “Hamas’ abhorrent terrorist attacks,” according to diplomatic sources.

The Moscow-proposed text, seen by AFP over the weekend, condemned “strongly all violence and hostilities against civilians and all acts of terrorism”.
