Ignorance of how many Hamas hostages are still alive said a representative of the organization in a tense interview with the British Sky News network on Monday evening.

Dr. Bassem Naim, Hamas’ head of political and international relations, said he had “no idea” about the number of hostages alive. “It is impossible under this heavy bombardment. Communications are completely cut off.”

He also said that Hamas “is ready to release all civilian hostages when the aggression against our people stops.”

He added: “But I hope we will have hostages alive when the aggression ends, because the Al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas’ armed wing) announced yesterday that nine hostages were killed by Israeli shelling. And three days earlier 13 others were killed, including four foreigners.”

Dr. Naim he avoided answering when asked if he accepts that Hamas has killed civilians in Israel, saying that Israel has killed 3,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

To the journalist’s question what is the difference between hamas and isis he replied “what is the difference between Israel and ISIS when they slaughter 3,000 civilians in one week:”. He added that Hamas was the first organization to attack ISIS.
