At the international airport Ben Gurion of Israel landed Wednesday at 11 a.m. his Air Force 1 presidential craft Joe Biden. Security measures in Tel Aviv are draconian.

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been found at Ben Gurion Airport, to welcome the American president, with the two leaders hugging each other tightly. Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog will hold talks in Tel Aviv.

“Welcome, Mr. President. God bless you who protect the nation of Israel” Israeli President Isaac Herzog said for his part, addressing Biden.

Security measures are extremely strict, as Palestinian organizations have repeatedly target the airport with rockets and Israeli officials have provided little information about the US president’s schedule during his five-hour visit.

The streets around Ben Gurion Airport are empty, as they were closed before Joe Biden’s visit.

President Biden was scheduled to arrive at 10 a.m., but his landing Air Force 1 was delayed by an hour.

The US president went to Israel despite the cancellation of the quadripartite meeting with the leaders of Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority after the deadly strike at a hospital near the Gaza Strip.

As reported by Al Jazeera, Biden’s visit will mark a major show of US support to their top ally in the Middle East after Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7.
