“These individuals and their families will have the full support of the United States government,” Biden said.
Joe Biden confirmed the release of the two American women held hostage by Hamas since October 7. They are Judith and her 18-year-old daughter Natalie Raanan from Chicago.
“Today, we secured the release of two American women who were captured by Hamas during the October 7 terrorist attack on Israel. Our fellow citizens have suffered a terrible ordeal these past 14 days and I am very happy that they will soon be reunited with their family, who are full of fear. These individuals and their family will have the full support of the United States government as they recover and heal, and we should all respect their privacy at this time.” said Joe Biden.
In parallel, he reiterated that his government “he works around the clock” for the release of Americans held hostage by Hamas. “We will not stop our efforts to secure the release of those still detained” he said.
The governments of Qatar and Israel were partners in the liberation efforts, the president stressed.
“Jill and I hold close to our hearts all the families of missing Americans. And, as I told these families when I spoke with them last week — we will not stop until we bring their loved ones home. As president, I have no higher priority than the safety of Americans being held hostage around the world.” Biden said.
