THE Israeli army accused the Lebanese Shiite movement today Hezbollah that he is seeking a military escalation on the border between the two countries, with the risk of dragging Lebanon into war, following the new exchanges of fire between Israel and fighters of the organization.

“Hezbollah is attacking and dragging Lebanon into a war from which it will gain nothing, but from which it risks losing a lot,” Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Cornikus warned in a post on the X platform.

Tensions on the border between Israel and Lebanon escalated further on Saturday following clashes that killed six Hezbollah fighters.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad spoke for its part about the death of one of its members.

On the Israeli side, the army announced that three soldiers were wounded, one of them seriously. Besides, two Thai land workers were also injured.

“Is the Lebanese state really prepared to risk what is left of Lebanese prosperity and sovereignty for the benefit of Gazan terrorists, the Islamic State of Gaza?” Conricus asked.

“It is a question that the Lebanese authorities must ask and answer,” he added.
