Syria’s Damascus and Aleppo international airports were shut down, while one worker was killed by a rocket attack launched by Israel early this morning, Syrian state media reported, citing a military source.

“At approximately 05:25 (local and Greek time) the Israeli enemy launched an airstrike targeting the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo, killing one worker at the Damascus airport and injuring another,” the military source said.

“The material damage caused to the airport runways has put them out of service,” he added.

Scheduled flights to and from the two airports are being diverted to Latakia airport, the Syrian Ministry of Transport said.
