London, Thanasis Gavos
Britain’s ruling Conservative MP Anthony Mangal announced on Twitter this afternoon that he had sent a letter of no-confidence against Boris Johnson to the party’s governing body, the 1922 Commission.
He is the third MP in two days to make the relevant public announcement after Tobias Elwood on Wednesday morning and Peter Aldous on Tuesday.
Mr Mangal, 32, of the most recent batch of 2019 MPs representing Tottenham and South Devon, wrote in his post that public life is important and that he can no longer support the Prime Minister.
“His actions and untruths overshadow the impressive work of so many excellent ministers and colleagues. “I have submitted a letter of no confidence,” he added.
According to Sky News, the Conservative MPs who have said they have written to the Commission in 1922 are now 11, while more have publicly challenged Boris Johnson.
In case of collecting 54 letters of distrust, a vote is automatically triggered in the parliamentary group for a possible dismissal of the Prime Minister.
