THE former head of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee Crispin Blunt revealed as o leading Conservative MP arrested in Britain after complaint against him for rape and drug possession.

The disclosure was made by Mr. Blunt himself in a post on X, writing that he was questioned for the first time by the police three weeks ago, when, as he notes, he had made a report of concern about extortion against him.

In his post, he described yesterday’s arrest as “unnecessary”, as he is willing to cooperate fully with the police investigation, from which he declares he is confident that he will emerge without charges against him.

Police in Surrey, south of London, confirmed the arrest of a man on Wednesday morning in the town of Horley.

“The arrested person has been released on bail while the investigations continue,” added a representative of the police department.

This is one more of many incidents of complaints against MPs for a sexual offence.

Just last week the Conservatives lost the parliamentary seat of Tamworth in a by-election after former minister Chris Pincher was ousted after he inappropriately touched a man in a club bar after a party event.
