“This siege gives me serious concern for their safety and the immediate risks to the health of vulnerable patients,” said Dr. Tedros via X (formerly Twitter).
The World Health Organization (WHO) is no longer able to communicate with its staff, health facilities and other partners in the besieged Gaza Strip, its Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has announced.
“This siege gives me serious concern for their safety and the immediate risks to the health of vulnerable patients,” said Dr. Tedros via X (formerly Twitter).
In his second post, he posed the rhetorical question: “Why?”.
Earlier, a Palestinian provider announced that all telecommunications services and internet access were interrupted in the Gaza Strip, due to heavy shelling by the Israeli army.
And the Palestinian Red Crescent said, also via X, that it had lost all contact with all its operations centers and groups in the coastal region of 2.3 million people.
Chahal, the Israeli army, announced yesterday that it is preparing to expand its ground operations in the Palestinian enclave in order to “annihilate” the Islamist movement Hamas. In recent hours, he said he had already escalated them in the small area, which has been completely cordoned off since the attack by the Palestinian Islamist movement’s military arm on Israeli territory on October 7.
