As weather conditions worsened, 1,880 communities in 16 regions, including that of Kyiv, are now without electricity, the Interior Ministry said in a Telegram post.
At least three people were killed today in Kiev by falling trees and dozens of communities were left without power, due to severe storms in Ukraine and the fact that the grid is unstable after Russian bombings in that country.
As the weather worsened, 1,880 communities in 16 regions, including that of Kyiv, no longer have electricitythe interior ministry said in a post on Telegram.
The most affected regions are those of Khmelnytskyi, of Rivne and Lviv, in western Ukraine. In the morning, the Ministry of Energy reported that at least 300,000 people have been left without electricity.
From falling trees due to strong winds three people were killed and 10 others were injured.
Ukrainian infrastructure was targeted by Russian bombing after the invasion, in the winter of 2022, leaving thousands of people often without electricity and heating. Although much of the network has been restored, the government expects new bombings in the winter and is asking the country’s Western allies to provide it with air defense systems.
