The actor, who played Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom for 10 years, died on Saturday at his home in Los Angeles.
The show’s ‘Friends’ creators said Matthew Perry was “happy” when they spoke to the actor two weeks before he died.
Marta Kaufman and David Crane told The Today Show on US Sky News affiliate network NBC that Perry was in “very good shape”.

Having contacted members of the production, the beloved actor had what they described as a “wonderful” and upbeat conversation with them.
“He was happy. He didn’t seem to be bothered by anything. He was in great shape, that’s why it seems so unfair.”
Tributes have poured in for the much-loved actor since Saturday, with colleagues saying they are “absolutely devastated”.
