THE Turkey expects it green light from the Egyptian authorities to operate the Mrits mobile hospitals in Rafaon the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip, so that wounded Palestinians can be treated there, the Turkish health minister said tonight.

“We have made the necessary preparations for the installation of twenty field hospitals at the airport of El Aris, in a sector near Rafah,” wrote Fahrettin Koca in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

“We are in close contact with the ministries of health of Egypt and Palestine for this purpose. We expect our safety to be guaranteed and the permits to be issued,” he added.

Turkey, a traditional ally of the Palestinians, has recently raised its voice against Israel and condemned the bombing of the civilian population in Gaza. It has already sent to Egypt’s El Aris airport several aircraft with food, medical supplies, generators and incubators intended for the people of Gaza.
