The American president Joe Biden told reporters today that he has called for a three-day pause in Gaza and a pause longer than that in order to free the hostages held by Hamas.

Biden also stated that United States they will strike again if necessary against targets linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the elite body of the Iranian military, and organizations linked to it, after the US military hit a building in Syria, and after the wave of attacks against US troops and the anti-jihadist coalition in Syria and Iraq.

The US president also ruled that there is “no chance” of a ceasefire in Gaza. Asked if he believed there was any chance of a ceasefire, the Democratic president, who has so far opposed that version, said: “No, no chance.”

Netanyahu does not back down: No ceasefire in exchange for the hostage

THE Benjamin Netanyahu turned down a deal for a five-day ceasefire with Palestinian jihadist groups in Gaza in return the release of some of the hostages, according to sources familiar with the negotiations cited by the Guardian.

The sources indicated that the Israeli prime minister rejected the deal without discussion in the first negotiations, after her bloody attack terrorist group Hamas on October 7.

Negotiations resumed after the start of the Israeli ground offensive on October 27but the same sources stated that Netanyahu continued to take a tough stance in proposals that involved truces of different durations in exchange for different numbers of hostages.

Other sources said that the negotiations that took place before the ground invasion involved much larger number of hostages, with Hamas proposing the release of dozens of foreign nationals prisoners in Gaza.

The office of the Israeli Prime Minister was asked to comment on the hostage negotiationsbut had not responded to the Guardian by Thursday afternoon.

Calculated that 240 people were taken hostage by Hamas in the October 7 attack with 1,400 dead.

Reuters: Mossad chief meets with CIA director and Qatari prime minister
