The Israeli army announced today that it has taken control of its government buildings Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza City, especially the parliament and government and police buildings.

Images on social media showed Israeli soldiers placing the Israeli flag on the parliament speaker’s chair, as well as soldiers posing in front of a wall under the sign “Headquarters of the Military”.

Since 2017 when Hamas expelled the Palestinian Authority from Gauzethe two Palestinian territories are de facto dependent on parallel authorities.

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli bombardment from the air, sea and mostly from tanks on land has killed more than 11,000 people, two-thirds of them women and children, according to the Hamas Health Ministry.
