The leader of the Israeli opposition Yair Lapid attacked the Recep Tayyip Erdogan after the Turkish president called Israel a “terrorist state”.

“We will not take moral lessons by President Erdogan, a man with an abhorrent human rights record,” Lapid wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Israel is defending itself against the brutal Hamas-ISIS terrorists, some of whom have allowed to operate under Erdogan’s roof,” he reported. Members and senior officials of Hamas currently live in Turkey.

The Israeli opposition leader also addressed the Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, saying Israel would support Trudeau’s nation if attacked, and Israel expects the same in return. Trudeau said Tuesday that the “murder of women, children, infants” in Gaza.

The Turkish president called Israel a “terrorist state”, accusing it of implementing a strategy to destroy all of Gaza along with its inhabitants. “Israel, Deliberately Targeting Hospitals and Schools, Completely Destroys a City. Israel practices state terrorism… With a clear conscience, I say here and now that Israel is a terrorist state” Erdogan said.
