The Dark Hedges, an arched tunnel of beech trees, has become a tourist attraction as it was referred to as the King’s Road in the series
The Dark Hedges, an arched tunnel of beech trees on a road near Armoy, Northern Ireland, became a popular tourist attraction when it featured in the second season of HBO’s hit series Game Of Thrones.
Bregagh Road (Bregagh Road) is on private land – a road leading to the palace at Gracehill House of 1775 – and in turn formed the King’s Road.
Now, some of these trees are going to be destroyed as – due to their age – they are in bad condition.
In fact, 11 of them could pose a potential danger to passing drivers, according to a statement from the Department of Infrastructure (DfI).
The Ministry of Infrastructure has announced that the removal and restoration work on the privately owned land will begin next Monday.
