A woman kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 has given birth in Gaza, the Israeli prime minister’s wife said in a letter released by Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
“One of the women kidnapped by Hamas was pregnant. She gave birth to her baby in captivity,” Sarah Netanyahu writes in English, in this letter addressed to US First Lady Jill Biden. Sarah Netanyahu asks Jill Biden to take action “to free the Israeli hostages.”
Israeli authorities estimate that 239 people were kidnapped during the Hamas offensive on Israeli soil. However, they have not revealed the identity or any other details about these people.
In her letter, Mrs. Netanyahu writes that among the hostages are 32 children, one of whom is only 10 months old. The Hostage Families Forum reported that the baby, Kriff Bibas, was nine months old when he was abducted from the Nir Oz kibbutz along with his 4-year-old brother, Ariel, and their parents, Yarden and Siri.
“We have to speak on behalf of these children. We must demand their release, as well as the other hostages,” writes Sara Netanyahu.
