How the two leaders commented on Vladimir Putin’s participation in the G20 summit
An “Action Plan” for closer bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, technology, energy and culture, among others, was signed earlier this evening by the chancellor Olaf Solz and the prime minister of Italy Georgia Meloniin the framework of the intergovernmental consultations of the two countries held in Berlin, for the first time since 2016.

Asked about the debate about the new Stability Pactthe two leaders admitted that they have different views, but spoke of progress in the negotiations and expressed their hope for a good result of “synthesizing” all points of view.
“The solution does not exist yet, but it is close,” noted Olaf Solz, who, in response to a related question, said that his government is working intensively in order to submit the budget plan as soon as possible, after the “hole” of 60 billion euros caused by the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court against the use for the Climate Fund of funds intended to deal with the consequences of the pandemic. Mr. Soltz pointed out that the fiscal implications of the decision are now being considered, but he declined to answer whether the budget will be passed already this year.
Asked by Georgia Meloni if ​​she considers him German chancellor reliable partner after the problem with the German budget, he emphasized that he does not wish to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, but assured that he personally values ​​both the chancellor and Germany as reliable partners.
Regarding immigration, Chancellor Soltz and Prime Minister Meloni emphasized the need for European solutions and cooperation with the countries of origin.
