“Plaintiff was sexually assaulted by defendant Eric Adams in New York City in 1993 while both were working for the City of New York,” the lawsuit states.
The mayor of New York Eric Adams was charged with sexual assault by a woman who claims he assaulted her in 1993 while they both worked in the city.
At the time, Adams was serving as an officer in the NYPD.
The woman, who has not been named, filed a lawsuit against Adams in Manhattan last night.
“Plaintiff was sexually assaulted by defendant Eric Adams in New York City in 1993 while both were working for the City of New York,” the lawsuit states.
A City Hall spokesman told the New York Post that Adams does not know who the woman is who is accusing him.
No further details have been released so far.
Adams, who is already facing intense scrutiny over allegations of dealings with Turkish officials and their associates during a political campaign, has yet to comment.
The mayor, however, still came under fire for massive budget cuts to the NYPD that will further reduce the number of officers on the streets by thousands.
