The Israeli military today provided more information on the process of returning hostages held in the Gaza Strip who will be released as part of the Israel-Hamas hostage and prisoner exchange deal.

According to the IDF, a list of the names of those expected to be released will be given to Israel each day around 4:00 pm. The military will then send officers to notify hostage family members whether their loved ones will be released or not.

The Israeli military reported that the hostages will be received “in the border area” and from there they will be transferred to Hajerim Air Base in southern Israel. Once released, they will be met by mental health specialists and undergo initial medical examinations, and will also be given telephone numbers to contact their relatives.

From Hajerim, the freed hostages will be taken to hospitals, where they will be reunited with their family members. Elderly women will be transferred to a different hospital than young children.

All freed hostages are expected to remain under medical observation for at least two days.

Based on the agreement, at 16:00 they are to be released the first 13 Hamas hostages, women and children. Three Palestinian prisoners will be released from Israeli prisons for every one hostage, including minors and women.

A Palestinian official said Israel would release 39 Palestinian prisoners, including 24 women and 15 teenage boys, in the occupied West Bank in exchange for the release of 13 hostages.
