Tens of thousands of Britons took to the streets of London again today to show their support for the Palestinians and call for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The march started at noon from Park Lane bound for Whitehall.

Those gathered held Palestinian flags and placards with slogans such as “Stop the bombing of Gaza” or “End the siege”.

“As an Arab, a Muslim and a human being, I am here to defend the Palestinians and their right to live, to breathe, to be free,” said one protester, a 24-year-old health worker. “The occupation of Gaza must end, we want a real ceasefire, not just a four-day pause,” he added.

Graham Foord, 56, said he was shocked by the way the media and government had portrayed these peaceful marches, which have been held every week since mid-October. Until recently, the Minister of the Interior, Suella Braverman, had described them as “hate marches”.

More than 1,500 police officers have been mobilized this weekend in London to maintain order.

Home Secretary James Cleverley told Platform X that a man holding a placard with Nazi symbols was arrested at the start of the demonstration.

A march against anti-Semitism will take place tomorrow Sunday in London, on the initiative of the organization “Campaign Against Anti-Semitism”.
