Israeli forces killed eight Palestinians, including two minors, and at least one gunman in the occupied West Bank late Saturday and early this morning, local sources said.

Five Palestinians were killed in Jenin as part of an Israeli military operation to capture a Palestinian allegedly involved in a deadly ambush in the West Bank in August.

The army gave no further details on the incident in Jenin, while eyewitnesses indicated that clashes took place between gunmen and Israeli soldiers.

The official Palestinian ministry WAFA reported that Israeli forces invaded Jenin “from various sides, firing and surrounding state hospitals and the headquarters of the Red Crescent”.

A sixth Palestinian was killed in Yatma, a village near Nablus, and another near a Jewish settlement outside the Palestinian city of al-Bireh, Palestinian officials said.

The Israeli army has not commented on these incidents.

Six more Palestinians were injured in clashes in Jenin, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Palestinian organizations called for a strike in Jenin today to “mourn the souls of the martyrs”, according to WAFA.
