The head of Egypt’s State Intelligence Service (SIS) stressed in a statement that the ceasefire continues to be observed without hindrance
Egypt announced today at approximately 16:00 in the afternoon, Greek time, that it received the lists of the names of the 13 hostages who will be released today by Hamas as well as the 39 Palestinians who were released from Israeli prisons, on the third day of implementation of the hostage and prisoner exchange and cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Diaa Raswan, head of Egypt’s State Intelligence Service (SIS), stressed in a statement that the ceasefire continues to be observed without hindrance, stressing that 120 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Palestinian enclave from Egypt today.
At the same time, the national security adviser of the American presidency, Jake Sullivan, said today to American news networks that an American citizen may be among the hostages who will be released today from the Gaza Strip.
“We have reason to believe that Americans will be released today. At least one American will be released today. “I can’t confirm who it will be or that it will definitely happen because until we see an American come out of Gaza safely and reach his loved ones, we won’t have full confirmation,” he stressed.
CNN reported earlier that “for the first time since the temporary truce between Hamas and Israel took effect, an American citizen is expected to be among the hostages to be released” today.
At the same time, sources cited by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz said that the Palestinian movement is expected to release today at least one hostage with Russian citizenship, as part of an agreement between the Russian government and Hamas.
It is recalled that many of the Israeli hostages have dual citizenship.
