Ten people lost their lives – A total of 411 communities in 11 regions have lost power and more than 1,500 vehicles had to be extricated from the snow
Almost 2,500 people have been rescued after a snowstorm in the Odesa region of southern Ukraine, according to its governor Oleh Kiper, who clarified that 313 settlements in the region are without electricity due to the bad weather.
The region of Odessa, which is located on the coast of the Black Sea, has been hit by heavy snowstorms since Sunday, which resulted in the entrapment of vehicles and the interruption of electricity supply.
In total “849 vehicles were towed, including 24 buses and 17 ambulances,” explained Kiper in a post on the Telegram application.
Everyone who had been trapped in the snow since the blizzard began has now been rescued, he added.
Ten dead – 23 injured
Ten people died in the snowstorms that occurred in Ukrainethe country’s interior minister Ihor Klimenko said today.
“As a result of worsening weather conditions, 10 people lost their lives in Odesa, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv and Kyiv regions,” Klimenko clarified in a post on the Telegram application.
“Twenty-three people were injured, including two children,” he added.

Earlier, the governor of Odessa Oleh Kiper announced that almost 2,500 people were rescued after a snowstorm in the Odesa region and that 313 settlements in the area have no electricity due to the bad weather.
