Former actress Suzy Camacho is indicted for deviation of $ 42 million from Farid Curi

A ex-atriz Suzy Camacho, 64, foi indiciada pela Polícia Civil de São Paulo por suspeita de desviar R$ 42,2 milhões do patrimônio de seu ex-marido, o empresário Farid Curi, morto aos 85 anos em 2022. De acordo com o inquérito conduzido pelo 4.º Distrito Policial da Consolação, Suzy teria se aproveitado da saúde fragilizada do companheiro para movimentar recursos e transferir bens em benefício próprio, com apoio de familiares e supposed use of counterfeit documents.

Farid Curi was one of the founders of the Atacadão supermarket chain, sold to Carrefour in 2013 for R $ 2.2 billion. In the same year, he and Suse Maria Gomes Camacho Curi were married under the compulsory separation of goods, because he was over 70 years old. The entrepreneur’s children were responsible for starting the complaint, accusing the former manager of isolating his father, submitting him to excessive medication and restricting contact with the family. Suzy Camacho participated and soap operas such as “The Viagem” (Tupi, 1975) and “Brega & Chic” (Globo, 1987).

According to the final report of the investigation, to which Estadão had access, Suzy’s assets grew significantly between 2019 and 2022, incompatible with the income she declared to the IRS. The analysis involved tax statements, bank statements and Coaf report, which identified millionaire operations without plausible economic justification, such as real estate purchases and transfers to family accounts.

The investigation also points out that it is also a psychologist dismissed the children from Farid and trusted employees from the businessman’s finance management. Control was exerted by his brother, Pompilio Camacho, who was a co-lit on Farid accounts used for withdrawals and transfers to Suzy herself and close people.

For the delegate Guilherme Sabino Corrêa, there is strong evidence that the former actress exploited her partner’s physical and cognitive vulnerability to deflect values ​​during marriage, especially from 2019.

The inquiry also cites a previous complaint, made in 2022 by the São Paulo Public Prosecutor, in which Suzy was accused of falsifying attestants medicals in order to appropriate R $ 10 million from his ex-husband. The defense denied any illegal practice.

Defense denies and speaks of familiar ‘frame’

Lawyer Luiz Flávio Borges d’Arso, who represents Suzy Camacho, said that the indictment is the result of a “frame” of the children of Farid Curi, who would be involved in other inquiries for slanderous denunciation, corruption of witnesses and threats. “It’s all a lie. Nothing has been found, no crime has been checked and no criminal complaints exist against Suzy,” said the crime.

D’Erso also accused one of Farid’s daughters of selling a house valued at $ 62 million by half the amount, without accounting in the inventory – which, he said, motivated a new investigation.

Already the lawyers of the children of the businessman, Rodrigo Carneiro Maia Bandieri and Rubens de Oliveira, told the report that they fully trust in court and in the investigation led by the Civil Police.
