The Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement that three explosive devices were detonated next to IDF troops in two different locations in the northern Gaza Strip in the last hour, in violation of the ceasefire framework.

In one of the locations, Hamas fighters also opened fire on the troops, who returned fire.

During the incidents, several Israeli soldiers were slightly injured, the same update states.

Shortly after the reported incident, according to the Jerusalem Post, the spokesman for Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeidah, claimed that Israeli forces had committed a “clear violation” of the ceasefire in the northern Gaza Strip and that Hamas had “confronted this infringement”.

“The Israeli Army remained within the agreed cease-fire lines,” the IDF Spokesman said.

Palestinian media reports that shortly after the Hamas-IDF exchange of fire, Israeli warplanes began flying over the Gaza Strip.
