The Hamas government, which holds power in the Gaza Strip, announced that Israeli airstrikes today killed three journalists in the Palestinian enclave.
One of the three journalists is Mudassir al-Sawaf, a Palestinian cameraman who worked for the official Turkish news agency Anadolu, which announced his death earlier today.
In addition to Mundasir al-Sawaf, his brother Marwan al-Sawaf, a sound engineer, and Abdullah Darwis, a cameraman, were also killed, according to the Hamas government’s press office.
According to the statement, the deaths bring to 73 the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, which erupted after the Palestinian Islamist movement’s October 7 attack on southern Israel.
