“Roads are for people. It’s the duty of pigeons to avoid cars,” argued the 50-year-old taxi driver
A taxi driver in Japan who deliberately stepped on a pigeon on the road has been charged with violating wildlife protection laws.
Tokyo police arrested 50-year-old Atsushi Ozawa a few days ago.
The taxi driver is accused of “using his car to kill a common pigeon, which is not a game species” according to the charges brought against him

Last month a complaint was made against him by a passer-by, who testified to the police that the Ozawa drove against a flock of pigeons sitting on the road.
He himself admitted his act saying that he “attacked” the pigeons with his taxi because “roads are for people. It is the duty of pigeons to avoid cars“, according to local media.
THE police described his actions as “extremely malicious”, prompting them to make this unusual arrest.
