In a clarifying statement on the facilitation of granting visas to Turkish citizens who will visit ten Greek islands throughout the year for seven days, as announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his meeting with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the representative of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs made, Onju Ketseli.

The statement of the Turkish representative is as follows:

“During our president’s visit to Athens, the Greek authorities informed us that the EU Commission has approved the application of a single entry visa with a validity of seven days at the gateway for tourist visits by our citizens to the ten Greek islands and that a relevant regulation is being prepared .

We await the official announcement of the application.

Preparations for this have been underway for some time. Our talks with the Greek authorities continue, in order to build the necessary infrastructure, such as customs and passport control on the islands that will be included in the application, with the aim that our citizens do not face difficulties when entering and leaving the islands”.
