Social media platform X will bring back the account of American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. after a poll of the site’s users supported its return, X owner Elon Musk said.

“The people have spoken and so shall it be», Musk said in response to a poll on whether Jones’ bill would be reinstated. By the time the poll closed, nearly 2 million votes had been cast, with about 70% voting in favor of Jones’ return.
The ban came weeks after Apple, Alphabet’s YouTube and Facebook pulled Jones’ podcasts and channels, citing community standards.

Alex Jones, who has championed conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook school shooting, was last year ordered to pay more than $1.5 billion in restitution to victims’ relatives for falsely claiming to be actors who staged the shootings, in part of a government conspiracy to confiscate Americans’ guns.
