According to the Houthis, the US target was their “reconnaissance plane” and one of the missiles fired exploded near a ship belonging to Gabon
The Houthi rebels announced on Sunday that a US warship had opened fire during a “reconnaissance” conducted by its planein the Red Sea, and threaten retaliation.
According to the claims of the pro-Iranian rebels, the US target was their “reconnaissance plane” and one of the missiles fired exploded near a ship belonging to Gabon and was sailing in the Red Sea after sailing from Russia. “The US military opened fire in a hysterical manner with multiple weapons, showing the state of confusion and anxiety” said Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abd Salam.
It is unclear whether the Houthi claim is credible and that the ship from Gabon was damaged in the incident, Israeli website ynetnews reports.
Their announcement comes in the context of the international force “Guardian of Prosperity” that the USA is establishing in the Red Sea, to prevent Shiite rebel attacks on merchant ships; whose declared goal is the naval blockade of Israel, but threaten the global economy with serious problems.
“The Red Sea will become a ‘flaming arena'” if the US and other countries continue in the international naval force,” the Houthi spokesman said. “Countries on the shores of the Red Sea must understand the danger that threatens their national security,” warned.
