Ahead of the country’s presidential election, the jailed Kremlin critic has been moved as far from Moscow as possible
“We found him Navalny! Alexey is being held at penal colony IK-3″Polar Wolf“(Arctic Wolf) in Harp in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region – one of the country’s northernmost and most remote colonies” announced yesterday the associates of the jailed Kremlin critic, who had been mobilizing world opinion for two weeks that had lost traces of it.
Ahead of the country’s presidential election, Navalny was moved as far as possible from the Kremlin – to a prison Arcticabout 1,900 kilometers northeast of Moscow, in one of the harshest “colonies” of Russia.
“The conditions there are harsh, with special status in the permafrost zone. It is very difficult to get there and the post offices are not working.’ Navalny’s associates said in their statement.

his spokesperson, Kira Jarmis, announced that Navalny’s lawyer was able to see him and that the imprisoned opposition leader “are well».
His lawyers had not seen him since December 6 and raised the alarm about his fate, although they knew he was to be transferred to a “special status” colony, the toughest tier in Russia’s prison system.
“Many thanks to our supporters, activists, journalists and the media who are concerned about the fate of Alexei and who do not tire of writing about the situation,” said Navalny’s lawyer Ivan Zhdanov.
