Five people, including a minor, died, two were injured and three others are missing in Romaniafollowing a fire that broke out this morning in one hostelat a distance of about 100 kilometers north of it Bucharest.

“This morning, in the Tohani region”, in the Prahova province, “a fire broke out in a place where accommodation and food are provided,” the local rescue services wrote in a Facebook message.

Among the dead, the firefighters “identified a minor who lost his life”, they explained.

“The extinguishing operation was hampered by the fact that the fire spread to the entire building, in an area of ​​more than 1,000 square meters,” rescuers said, releasing images of the premises engulfed in flames.

They explained to AFP that they carried out a “background check” of the facilities.

The hostel had not “taken steps” to obtain a “fire protection certificate” after irregularities were found during an audit in 2019.
