Russian President Vladimir Putin was briefed by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on the “damage” suffered by the amphibious assault ship Novotcherkassk
Moscow confirmed today Tuesday that one of her warships was damaged in a Kiev attack on Crimea, a new blow, and prestige blow, for Moscow in the Black Sea, which was welcomed by the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.
The president of Russia Vladimir Putin informed by the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on the “damages” suffered by the landing ship Novotcherkassk during that attack, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, without elaborating.
The Minister of Defense, as reported by the RIA Novosti news agency, told him that the ship “was damaged at night during an attack by the Ukrainian armed forces with the assistance of cruise missiles” in the city of Feodosia.
The Ukrainian military assured that it “destroyed” this ship, which it said was carrying Iranian-made Shahed dronesoften used by Moscow in war.
The attack was carried out around 02:30 local time with the help of cruise missiles of the “tactical air force”, the air force said in a Telegram message.

Commander Mykola Oleschuk released a video showing an explosion and flames.
For his part, the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky indirectly but clearly mentioned that the ship sanksarcastically hailing the work of his country’s air force “for the impressive addition of a new ship to the Russian submarine fleet in the Black Sea.”
The attack killed one person and wounded two others, while six buildings were damaged, according to Crimean governor Sergei Aksionov.
This strike against a Russian ship constitutes a success for Ukraine, which seeks to prove that it can keep Moscow’s military fleet off its shores, even if it fails to push its army to the front.
Its forces managed to remove Russian ships from the southwestern Black Sea and reopen a corridor for the export of Ukrainian grain, defying the threat of bombing.
Volodymyr Zelensky hailed the results of this strategy as one “Ukraine’s great victory in the Black Sea”.
