A large rally protesting “electoral irregularities” on December 17 was held in its center Belgrade. The gathering was organized by “Proglas” movement (Declaration) which is an initiative of intellectuals with the aim of democratizing Serbia. During the pre-election period, this movement held dozens of lectures throughout the country, while its declaration of a democratic Serbia approximately 200,000 citizens signed.

The opposition parties and student organizations also participated in today’s rally held under the slogan “We do not compromise”. The speakers argued that last Sunday’s elections were undemocratic, were carried out under a regime of intimidation, violence and fraud and demanded their repetition. The need to update the electoral rolls and create conditions for a smooth electoral process with the help of the The European Union.

The leader of the opposition also addressed the gathering Marinika Tepic, which continues its hunger strike for the twelfth day. “I’m sorry I don’t have the strength to speak. But I don’t have much to say, I’ve said it all. These elections must be cancelled,” said Mrs. Tepics, visibly stressed. Immediately after her appearance at the rally, M. Tepits was taken to a clinic where she is being treated in the intensive care unit.

The demonstrators after the rally held a march which ended up in front of the constitutional court.
