Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed his country would respond after today’s Russian airstrikes, stressing that Moscow “will be held accountable for every life it took».

Zelensky, in a video he posted on Telegram, pointed out that Moscow launched almost 100 missiles of various types against Ukraine. “At least 70 missiles were shot down. Almost 60 of them in the Kiev region. Kharkiv was also hit hard,” he added.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president had stated via Telegram that “so far 92 people have been injured (…) Unfortunately four have been killed,” denouncing the “Russian terror” campaign.

As Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko clarified, one person was killed in Kiev, two more in the region of the Ukrainian capital and a fourth in Kharkiv.

According to Ukrainian military chief Valery Zaluzny, Russia launched today “99 missiles of various types”of which 72 were shot down by Ukrainian air defense.

Ukrainian forces “destroyed 72 air targets”, including 10 Kinjal hypersonic missiles and three Kalibr cruise missiles as well as 59 Kh-101, Kh-555 and Kh-55 cruise missiles.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba today asked the country’s allies to provide it with faster ammunition for air defense systems, attack drones and long-range missiles.

In a statement, Kuleba called on Ukraine’s Western partners to respond to the new Russian strikes “by accelerating the provision of additional air defense systems, attack drones of all types, missiles with a range of more than 300 kilometers.”

At the same time, Kuleba asked his country’s allies to “decide to use the frozen Russian assets for the needs of Ukraine and stop having contacts with Russian diplomats in the capitals and international organizations.”
