An attempted burglary occurred at the home of the famous Greek presenter Nikos Aliagas, this morning in Paris.

French authorities have already made five arrests.

As Le Parisien reports, the presenter was fortunately not there at the time of the incident.

According to the publication, the would-be burglars, in their attempt to break in, caused damage to the presenter’s residence, in Fontenay-sous-Bois (Val-de-Marne).

According to a source cited by French Media, the burglars managed to breach the gate of Nikos Aliagas’ residence, while the front door was damaged, including a hole the burglars had drilled above the lock.

However, they did not manage to get inside as the alarm went off.

The homeowner’s name was revealed by an insurance document, which was found on a car parked in the yard of the home.

Police sources said that the Greek presenter was summoned by the authorities in order to testify.

“Around 3:30 a.m., police officers noticed a black Citroën DS parked along the street of an expensive district of Paris along the Bois de Vincennes,” the French newspaper article said.

A chase ensued on nearby roads towards the Nogent-sur-Marne area where the Citroën DS, driven by the thugs, crashed into a tree.

During the impact, all five occupants were slightly injured and taken to the hospital for first aid.

They were then taken into custody.
