An American man who killed his brother in an accident while hurrying to load a gun to shoot a bear has committed suicide, Oregon police said.
The man, whose details were not made public, called for immediate action when the tragedy occurred.
“He reported that he had accidentally shot his brother while loading a gun because a bear had entered his property,” the sheriff’s office in Josephine County in the northwestern United States said Wednesday.
“When they arrived, the police found a man dead, with a bullet wound. “While checking the rest of the house, they found a second man dead, with an injury that seemed to have been caused to himself”, according to the same source.
An investigation is underway into the incident, in which no one else seems to be involved. “It seems that this man decided to end his life after calling for immediate action,” according to the sheriff’s office.
It is not clear what happened to the bear.
According to NGOs, every resident of the United States, including infants, has more than one weapon. There are about 45,000 deaths in the country due to the use of firearms and accidents every year.
