The defense of democracy against the threats it receives will be the central slogan of the pre-election campaign of the US president, Joe Biden.

In particular, Biden’s first campaign ad which is expected to be released on the anniversary of the January 6 uprising at the US Capitol, focuses on threats to US democracy.

In the ad, Biden says that preserving American democracy was the “central issue of his presidency”. As the footage shows scenes of violence that unfolded during the attack on the Capitol, the voice of the US president can be heard saying that “there is an extremist movement that does not share the core beliefs of our democracy”.

“The question for all of us right now is what are we going to do to preserve our democracy?” Biden emphasizes in the commercial.
