The former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius (Oscar Pistorious) was today paroled almost 11 years after murder of Riva’s partner Steenkampin a crime and trial that shook the planet.

Pistorius, known as “Blade Runner” and “the fastest man with no legs” shot and killed his then-29-year-old partner behind the locked bathroom door of his home on Valentine’s Day 2013, believing, he claimed, that she was a burglar at their home.

Pistorius at that time was a model of strength, an example of an athlete: he won six gold medals in three Paralympic Games and made history in 2012 by becoming the first amputee sprinter to compete in the London Olympics.

Today, at 37, he is a “fallen hero“, convicted murderer, who until 2029 will live outside of prison but with conditions that if he violates them he will be back in the cell.

Local media believe Pistorius will stay at his uncle Arnold Pistorius’ home in an expensive suburb of Pretoria.

Pistorius for the next few years will have to be at home at set times every day, attend mandatory programs, not consume alcohol or drugs and not give interviews.

He will also have to undergo anger management treatment and attend sessions on gender-based violence as part of his release, Steenkamp’s family has said.

Apparently it is said that has changed very much, he is nothing like the handsome young athlete that the world knew before his incarceration.

He is a celebrity for the wrong reasons who will not be able to redeem his fame.

THE career his career as an athlete is over. Famous brands will not want to be sponsors while no one will agree to hire him even as a sports commentator.

However, at some point, when his sentence ends, Pistorius will be free to speak to media and tell the story from his side. Then, as usually happens in these cases, the first “exclusive» interview it will be closed by the medium that offers the most money. And every interview he gives will translate into dollars.

But Pistorius’ future publicity will not be welcomed by the bereaved Riva’s parents, who will continue to fight in memory of their murdered child.
